Welcome!

                                                               Montevideo temple
Dear Parents and Friends of Missionaries in the Uruguay Montevideo Mission,

Greetings!  Last week we arrived in Uruguay.  It is beautiful here and we are excited to have finally arrived.  We will preside over the Uruguay Montevideo Mission from July 2012 to July 2015.  We look forward to meeting your wonderful missionaries over the next few days.  Our service will begin with personal interviews and a series of introduction meetings throughout the mission.

By way of a short introduction, the last three years we have been living in Lima, Peru where President Armstrong worked as an attorney for the Church.  Prior to moving to Peru we called Evansville, Indiana home, although we have previously also lived in Salt Lake, Tucson and Houston.  We have 6 wonderful children, 4 of whom are married.  Our youngest two children, Matthew and Stacey, are currently with us in Montevideo.  Matthew recently returned from the Houston, Texas Mission (Spanish speaking) and will be returning to the States at the end of the summer to attend BYU.  Stacey is 16 and will be attending 11th grade in the American School here in Montevideo.  We are excited to be able to share our mission experience with our  children.

The Armstrong Family

The Lord’s work is miraculously moving forward in this part of the vineyard.  President and Sister Da Silva have done a terrific job leading the missionary efforts and caring for your missionaries these past few years.  We love the Da Silvas and hope to continue to build upon their good work.  We wish them well as they return to Paraguay and pray the Lord’s choicest blessings will be with them and their family.

We had a zone activity today with those form the Florida zone and our senior missionary couples the Hills and the Davidsons, July 2.
